Sikh Union Coventry

Charity walk 2006

It was such a pleasure to see so many people taking part in the charity walk. The participant’s ages varied from about six to sixty. The charity walk started from Ramgharia Gurdwara at 10am after the Granthi (priest) had recited the ardas. The Gurdwaras, Coventry Cathedral and Mandirs enroute were very accommodating and served everybody with hot and cold drinks, lots of pakoras, lovely gelebes, and chocolates just to mention a few.
We like to thank everyone who contributed towards making this event, yet again a major success.

Sikh Union Club gives recognition to all the individuals who worked so hard to make this charity walk a success and convey our thanks to all. We also acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of the fund raising participants and their sponsors.

The walk is organised by Sikh Union Club in conjunction with Coventry City Council, West Midlands Police and the Council of Sikh Gurdwaras in Coventry. The Charities to benefit this year are Coventry Myton Hospital Appeal, Diabetes UK, British Lung Foundation, and Tiverton School in Coundon, Pingalwara in Amritsar, Coventry Telegraph/ Mercia FM Snowball Appeal and the Sikh Union Youth Academy.

Here are photographs taken on the day. Gursharan Singh Bansal of Just Right photography who has very kindly offered to supply anyone with a free compact disc of these photographs. He can be contacted on 07970 692 991.
ENJOY.
