In 1968, a number of college students formed the Sikh Union Hockey Club.
They trained on a regular bases, at the Morris Park. The main aim was to play in the Indian tournaments all over the country e.g. Shaheed Udham Singh tournament, Guru Nanak cup etc. From 1986 to 1992 the club became well established and held its position at the top level of the league table.

In 1981 the club affiliated to the Hockey Association and decided to enter into the Midlands League. They entered into the 5th division. At that time all the established players were playing for the big clubs. So the club struggled for the first year to build a strong first team. Most of the players were students and hockey was an expensive game.
In 1983, the club progressed into the second division by winning for three consecutive years. In that period the club won many major titles i.e. summer league, Indoors league; Warwickshire Championship etc.

Currently the club has 4 teams. The first team gained promotion to the East Midland premier Division and the seconds also got promotion to the West Midlands Division 1. The firsts narrowly missed out on winning the summer leagues premier division.
